trades be mastered or are you setting yourself up to be the ‘jack of all trades
but the master of none?’
In your opinion how easy is it for a performer to begin
working in a new medium?
What are the key skills required to make the transition from
dancer to choreographer?
Is finding multiple forms of expression the key to creative
fulfilment and career longevity?
In a performance job that requires multiple skills e.g.
holiday park; working with children alongside performing. Quantify the
relationship between the skills required for daytime duties compared to the
skills required for performance work.
How can one style of dance e.g. Ballet, aid in the technique
of another e.g. Jazz?
In your eyes what is the ‘look’ of a dancer?
How would you define a successful dancer?
In your opinion, is there are reason more ‘trained’ dancers

Some of your questions are close to the ones I did...I have been researching and questioning a lot about improvement of artistic quality , about this path of "self-discovery" in order to become a better professional and how can other techhniques help this improvement and also , about the process of from graduation, to change the student look into a professional look. ReplyDeleteThanks Lizzie - good discussion - continue thinking about these for an inquiry... why would you really like to find out about now - resources to do that? the one about the multiple skills is interesting - I wonder if some of the aspects of a dancer's transitions might link up with this? Even the idea of natural instinct - is that like a kinaesthetic learning style - or activist? Are these attributes? competencies? capabilities (the thinking you need to do to perform) - practice based understanding...what about your literature for these topics - found anything yet?
